A 7-seat MPV, usually a Toyota Avanza or Suzuki Ertiga, is what most families here end up in. It takes the whole group and still leaves room in the back for beach bags and a board or two. It sits high enough to clear the speed bumps and broken tarmac on the back roads around Canggu and the Bukit. The daily rate drops the longer you keep it, and we confirm the exact price on WhatsApp before you commit to anything.

How it works

1. 1Tap the car and WhatsApp opens with a message ready to send. Tell us your dates, how many of you there are, and which area you're staying in so we know the kind of roads you'll be on.
2. 2We confirm the day rate (it drops for longer hires) and line up a car from a local rental we trust. We'll ask for a photo of your licence and International Driving Permit before we book it.
3. 3The car arrives at your villa on the first morning, cleaned and fuelled to the level we agreed. Whoever drops it off walks you round it and checks it over with you.
4. 4You pay the rental company directly, usually in cash, either when they drop the car off or when they collect it at the end. You pay us nothing. Some owners hold a cash deposit against damage, and we'll tell you the exact figure before you book.

Common questions

Do I need a special licence to drive it?

Yes. Bring your home licence and an International Driving Permit, and carry both whenever you drive. Police run checkpoints around Canggu and Seminyak and will fine you on the spot if you can't show the IDP. If you didn't sort one before flying out, tell us and we'll point you to a car with a driver instead.

Can you deliver it to the villa?

Yes, anywhere from Canggu down to Uluwatu. We drop it at your villa on the first morning and collect it from the same spot at the end, so you don't have to find an office or leave a deposit at a desk. We can also hand it over at the airport if you'd rather have it from the moment you land.

Is it automatic, and is petrol included?

The MPVs we send are automatic, which nearly everyone prefers for the traffic here. Petrol isn't in the day rate. We hand the car over with a set amount in the tank and you bring it back roughly the same, or we just settle the difference. Filling up is cheap and stations are everywhere.

Can you fit child seats?

Usually, yes. Child seats aren't standard in Bali rental cars, so tell us the ages when you first message and we'll confirm availability and any charge before you book. Even with two seats in, an Ertiga or Avanza still seats a family of five with the boot free for bags.

What if my plans change and I don't need it?

Let us know the day before and there's no charge for cancelling. If it's the other way and you want to keep the car a few extra days, just message us. We'll usually drop the daily rate for the longer stretch.
