Event catering
from 750K IDRper event
You have booked a villa with a proper kitchen and a pool, and now there is a crowd to feed. Maybe it is a birthday, maybe a group of fifteen who all arrived on the same night and want dinner in one place. Event catering brings the meal to the villa, instead of one person cooking for everyone or the whole group squeezing into cars to find a restaurant that will take a table that size. It might be a Balinese babi guling feast, a barbecue by the pool, or platters to graze on through the party. The caterers who set it up and clear away afterwards work villas around Canggu and the Bukit most weekends. Once we know your numbers and what you fancy eating, we agree a per-head price, so a quiet dinner for eight and a welcome night for thirty are both easy to sort.
We confirm the exact price on WhatsApp before you commit. You pay the provider directly. This service is provided by an independent supplier, not by Spacious Bali. See our terms.
How it works
- 1Tap Event catering to open a WhatsApp message to us. Tell us the date, how many people, which villa or area you are in, and the sort of food you are after: a Balinese feast, a barbecue by the pool, seafood, grazing platters, or something the kids will actually eat.
- 2We reply within the hour, any time from 8am to 8pm, with a caterer who suits the group, a menu, and a firm per-head price. Babi guling and larger parties want a day or two of notice, so message us early if your date is fixed.
- 3On the day the caterer comes to the villa, sets up in the kitchen or out by the pool, and either lays it out as a buffet or plates and serves, depending on what you booked. They bring their own equipment and clear up after.
- 4You pay the caterer directly once the food is out, almost always cash in rupiah. The price is the one we quoted, nothing is added on top, and no money goes through us.
Common questions
- How much notice do you need?
- A day is comfortable for most menus. Babi guling, the whole roast suckling pig, is cooked to order and needs 24 to 48 hours. Big numbers or a set date like a birthday are worth booking earlier still. We can sometimes turn round a simpler spread same day if a caterer has room, but do not bank on it in July, August, or over Christmas and New Year.
- Do they cook at the villa or bring it ready made?
- Both, depending on the menu. A barbecue or a live station is cooked on site, so you get the smell and a bit of theatre by the pool. A Balinese feast or a grazing table usually turns up prepared and is laid out fresh. Either way they bring serving dishes and their own gear, and leave the kitchen as they found it. Whether the guest plates and cutlery come from them or the villa varies by menu, so we confirm that with your quote.
- Can you handle vegetarians, allergies or halal?
- Yes, just tell us when you book. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and nut allergies are all normal requests, and most caterers do a proper halal menu with notice. If it is a real allergy rather than a preference, say so plainly so the kitchen keeps that dish separate.
- What is the smallest group you cater?
- The starting price is per event and covers a small dinner, roughly eight to ten people. For fewer than that a private chef cooking in the villa often works out better value, and we can set that up instead. There is no real ceiling at the top end. We have done welcome dinners and villa parties well into the dozens.
- Are drinks included?
- Food only as standard. Most groups buy their own beer, wine and spirits, which is far cheaper from a local shop than any caterer markup, and we can arrange someone to do that run for you. If you want a bartender or staff to pour and clear glasses through the night, just ask and we will price that on top.
