A driver for the day is one car and one person who stays with you from morning to evening, so you can link the temples near Ubud, a waterfall, lunch and a sunset spot without arranging a fresh ride at every stop. Bali roads are slower than the map suggests, and parking at the busy places is its own small battle. A driver who knows the shortcuts is often the difference between two stops in a day and comfortably doing five. The from-price covers roughly ten hours with a comfortable car and petrol, and we agree the exact figure with you before you commit.

How it works

1. 1Message us on WhatsApp with your date, where you're staying, a rough start time and where you fancy going. No plan yet? Tell us the kind of day you want and we'll suggest a route.
2. 2We confirm the price for your hours and match you with a driver who knows that side of the island, then send you their name and car details, usually the evening before.
3. 3On the day, the driver collects you from your villa at the agreed time, waits at each stop and takes you wherever the day heads.
4. 4You pay the driver directly at the end, in cash. Parking, tolls and any entrance tickets are separate and small, and a tip is up to you.

Common questions

What does the price cover, and what do I pay on top?

It covers the car, the driver and petrol for around ten hours. You pay your own entrance tickets, parking (usually 2,000 to 5,000 IDR a stop) and any road tolls as you go. Running well past ten hours or heading somewhere far like Amed or the north coast usually adds a bit, and we tell you that number before the day, not after.

How far can we realistically go in one day?

More than you'd think, but Bali distances are deceptive. From the Canggu side you can do Ubud, a couple of temples and a waterfall with time to spare. Uluwatu, a beach or two and a sunset dinner also works nicely. Mount Batur for sunrise or the far east coast is a genuinely long day, so we'll suggest an early start and be straight with you about the driving hours.

Can we change the plan partway through the day?

Yes, it's your car for the hours you've booked. Decide over breakfast to swap the waterfall for a beach club and that's no problem, as long as it fits the time. The driver will also tell you honestly if an extra stop is too far to add without running long.

How many people fit, and can you sort a car seat for children?

A standard car takes four adults comfortably with bags. For five or more, or a bigger group, we'll send a larger vehicle like an Innova. Travelling with little ones? Child seats are rare in Bali, so tell us their ages a day ahead and we can usually arrange one. Or bring your own and the driver will fit it.

What happens if we need to cancel?

Let us know the day before and there's nothing to pay. If you cancel on the morning, we ask you to cover the driver's day, since they've already turned down other work to hold your slot. If the weather turns, we're usually happy to move the day rather than charge you, just message us early.
