A small automatic scooter is how most people get around this side of Bali. It slips through Canggu traffic where a car just sits, and it fits down the narrow gangs that run to the beach. The 110 to 125cc Hondas and Yamahas are twist-and-go, so there are no gears to think about. They are also light enough to handle even if you have not ridden in a while. You still need a motorcycle licence and an International Driving Permit to ride legally in Bali, and police do check.

How it works

1. 1Tap through to WhatsApp with your villa name and the dates you want it. Let us know if you have a model in mind, say a Honda Scoopy or a Yamaha Fino. A quick photo of your passport helps the provider prep the paperwork.
2. 2We confirm the daily rate, which drops for weekly or monthly hire, then hold a bike from a rental we know and set a drop-off time that suits you.
3. 3The scooter arrives at your villa with two helmets and enough petrol to reach the nearest station. Give it a quick look over and you are set to ride.
4. 4You pay the provider directly, cash is easiest, either at drop-off or when they collect the bike at the end. We will have given you the exact price before you commit, so nothing changes on you later.

Common questions

Can you deliver it to my villa?

Yes, anywhere from Canggu down to Uluwatu, and we collect it the same way at the end. Send us the villa name or a map pin. Delivery is normally free in the main areas; somewhere out of the way might add a small fee, which we will tell you before you agree to anything.

How much is petrol and where do I fill up?

Petrol is cheap on these. A litre is around 10,000 to 13,000 IDR, and the small engine sips it, so a full day of beach runs costs almost nothing. Fill up at an official Pertamina station when you pass one, or grab a bottle from the little roadside stalls when you are running low.

Is one scooter enough for two people?

For two adults and a beach bag on short local runs, yes, these handle it fine. If you are both carrying luggage, or you want to ride further afield like a day down to Uluwatu, ask us about a bigger 150cc instead. We can sort that out just as easily.

Is it cheaper to keep it for longer?

Much cheaper per day. The daily rate falls the longer you keep the bike. For a full month we can usually line up a newer scooter that has just been serviced. Send us your dates and we will quote the total upfront.
